  • In the last newsletter, I talked a little bit about the purchase and renovation process of our 110 year old home. Afterwards, several people reached out to me and were interested in learning more about our approach towards sustainable housing and renovation. Since this topic has been in the forefront of my mind for quite some time now, I happily obliged and wrote a blog post with six topics to consider when purchasing and renovating a home - if sustainability matters to you. • The Schneeflöckchen socks pattern was released today! And I hope you like it as much as I do!
It is a cuff down sock design which contains a simple colourwork motif throughout the sock. The cuff and toe contain some subtle scallops for an added detail. The pattern comes in four different sizes and is available in English. You can find it both on Ravelry and Lovecrafts.
The yarn I used to knit the sample is my naturally dyed yarn in the Luster Sock DK base. You need a full 100 g skein of yarn and a 50 g skein of yarn in a contrasting colour. You can find the yarn in my Etsy shop (link in bio) or use a DK weight yarn of your choice (yardage 250 m/100 g).

  • Last year I designed the Schneeflöckchen hat as part of @_makingstories annual winter celebration (swipe right for a picture of the hat).
And today, one year later, I am so happy to show you my newest design, the Schneeflöckchen socks. Since I liked the patterning of the hat so much, I decided to create a pair of socks with the same pattern. It is reminiscent of snowfall (Schneeflöckchen means little snowflake in German) because snow always brings me joy. The pattern will be released on Ravelry on December 16th.

If you are one of my newsletter subscribers, be sure to check your inbox tomorrow because there will be a special discount code both for the pattern itself and my Etsy shop as a thank you to you!
